Harriet's Raising Awareness was created in memory of Harriet Edwards.
Harriet Edwards was born on March 19, 1977 in Fayetteville, NC. Harriet graduated from Whetstone High School and then graduated from the Ohio School of Beauty, where she certified as a Nail Technician and Barber.
Harriet was a women of creativity, passion, ambition, and straightforwardness. She could make the funniest remarks that would have everyone in the room crying of laughter and had the type of laugh that was unique, unforgettable, and made anyone who hear it burst into laughter. She was the type of person that rarely came when you wanted her to, but she was there when you needed her. She was an emotional rollercoaster, but like a rollercoaster she was amazing to be around. She lived life in a way that she knew would fulfil her happiness and aspirations. Harriet loved colors, bright things, decorating, and satisfying people with her nail art, with the goal of being a business owner.
Harriet loved tremendously, while here she touched many hearts, and will always be missed. She wore her heart on her sleeve, loved hard, and was not someone you would want to cross or get on her bad side. She truly had the heart of a lion and the soul of someone who never gives up. In her passing she was able to donate her heart to save the life of another.
Part of this tribute was written by her brother Harry Edwards.
Our story, our mission
Welcome to Harriet's Raising Awareness Foundation. We are dedicated to empowering children and teens to thrive. Discover our purpose, our passion, and the positive impact we strive to make in the lives of young people in Columbus, Ohio, and beyond.

Our inspiration and main goal
Harriet’s Raising Awareness Foundation was inspired by the desire to create a lasting positive impact on children and teens. Our main goal is to empower young individuals through critical life skills. We focus on promoting healthy living, financial literacy, the importance of education, and career development. We believe that introducing these vital concepts early will significantly increase the likelihood of building and maintaining healthy habits and improve personal development for life.

Making a real difference
Our programs are designed to make a tangible difference in the lives of young people. Through healthy living initiatives, money smart workshops, educational support, and career development assistance, we provide free resources, classes, and workshops. These offerings equip children and teens with the tools and knowledge necessary to navigate life successfully, fostering growth and independence.

Our guiding principles
At the heart of Harriet’s Raising Awareness Foundation are core beliefs centered on early intervention and empowerment. We firmly believe that an early introduction to healthy behaviors and financial literacy significantly increases the probability of children and teens acquiring the tools and guidance they need for lifelong independence and enhanced well-being. These principles guide our work and our interactions in our communities.
About the founder: My Story
Hi, my name is Terrionna! I was born in the early 90's and was raised in Columbus, Ohio all my life. I enjoy spending time with family, dancing, being emotionally available for others, and traveling. Many would describe me as reliable, honest, wise, caring, and dedicated.
I grew up understanding the importance of education, not being a follower, and financial security at an early age. I didn't always understand the importance of making healthy choices, until I was in my mid 20's.
What ultimately motivated me to start Harriet's Raising Awareness program was my mom, who passed away in 2020 at the age of 43, due to health complications. Experiencing a loss like that and coming to realization that health issues have always been a problem not only in my family but all around America, spark a fire in me to help myself and others understand the importance of healthy living, overall wellness, and financial success. I feel that teaching this to our young early allows for a higher chance of success and mental resilience that can transition into adulthood.
